Encounters with animals are something I really appreciate when I'm out with my camera. Sometimes the encounter is planned, other times the subject appears completely unexpectedly. It's often the brief moments, before the animal disappears further, that make the best images.

Here I collect pictures of animals I have encountered on hikes and in nature. Big and small, familiar and unfamiliar – each encounter has its own story.
